U-Pick Persimmons & Scarecrow Contest

Join us at Frost Lane Farms for our Fuyu & Jiro Persimmon U-Pick! With 15 acres dedicated to persimmons, we proudly boast the largest orchard of its kind in Florida. This year, our trees are bursting with fruit! Known by various names—Asian Persimmons, Japanese Persimmons, and Apple Persimmons—these treats are not to be confused with our native astringent varieties. Enjoy them crisp, even before they fully ripen, as they offer a mild sweetness. As they mature, their color transitions from yellow-green to orange and eventually to a rich red, becoming sweeter with each change.

In addition to the orchards, our pumpkin patch will be open, featuring an art pumpkin painting station. Explore our build-your-own bouquet flower field, and savor delicious burgers and brisket cooked by SoWal Grill, along with other fantastic dishes. Certain areas of the farm will be available for exploration. We invite you to spend the day with us on the farm on Saturday, October 4th, and Sunday, October 5th, from 8 AM to sunset. We’ll be open every weekend after that until the fruit is all picked!

SCARECROW CONTEST

Please bring your scarecrow October 4th or 5th 8am until Sunset. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. After the contest is over, you will have one week to pick up your scarecrow or you can donate it to the farm to use in the Orchard. We are not responsible for anything happening to the scarecrow so do not use anything that’s valuable or meaningful. Scarecrow will be out in the weather for the entire month.

Harvest Queen & Scarecrow Contest!
Judged on creativity! Harvest decor, repurposed & natural materials. Needs to be sturdy and designed to stand on its own. Ground stakes can be used.
1st & 2nd prizes Beef Subscription & ground must be picked up each month. 1 month missed will not be carried over to the next month. 3rd prize beef box can be be picked up at any of our local farmers markets the month of November.
Please text 850-333-1284 if you plan on entering a scarecrow or harvest queen. All entries must be at the farm by Sunset Sunday October 5th. Frost Lane Friends votes will determine the winners. Voting will be open during our U-pick hours. Winner will be announced October 27th.
